Auckland based UK born artist, Tim Allen announces his brand new single ‘Different Shore’ - the first from his highly anticipated sophomore album The Last Bastion of a Lad.
Produced by Ben King and engineered by both King and Nick Abbott ‘Different Shore’ is a romping, guitar-driven track, steeped in British culture with a Kiwi twist.
Tim penned the song in his father’s nostalgic music room back in his hometown of Preston. Missing his son in N.Z and mourning the breakdown of his relationship, the track is an accolade to being torn between two places and not knowing where home really is. However, ultimately, the song is an uplifting one and gives hope to people in turbulent times.
The Last Bastion Of a Lad features some of New Zealand’s finest musicians including Ben King (Goldenhorse), Milan Borich (Pluto), Matthias Jordan (Pluto, Night choir), plus appearances by Dominic Blaazer, Toni Randle (Eyreton Hall) and Callum Passells.
The album was recorded in various band members’ houses and evolved to Kiwi producer Nick Abbott’s North Western recording studio in Auckland N.Z.
‘Different Shore’ is now available digitally worldwide on Spotify, iTunes, and all good outlets. Allen has also unveiled a lyric video for the track and is available to listen and view here:
The Last Bastion of a Lad is set for release on June 5th, ahead of Tim's U.K tour, which will see him headlining legendary Camden venue The Dublin Castle in London 9th July with an extraordinary lineup including “Nigel Clark” of Britpop giants Dodgy, Dorion Cox (The Long Blondes) and band-on-the-rise The Juice.
Tim and band will also play in Liverpool, Bristol, Manchester, Preston and Wigan before heading to France and returning to N.Z. via Asia for a string of dates.
