Purple Pilgrims have revealed another hypnotic video from their latest album Perfumed Earth, released in August on Flying Nun Records. ‘Sensing Me’ is a Love Magic incantation and telepathic ritual. A claustrophobic dream of elation, desperation, regret and double meanings.
The video was directed by W.A.M Bleakley and shot on 16mm Kodak film. The characters become more and more disarrayed as internal clashes overwhelm them - becoming divided within and against themselves, and ultimately disembodied.
The making of Perfumed Earth saw Purple Pilgrims return to the birthplace of their debut record Eternal Delight, where the sister duo assembled a community of collaborators to weave together the 9 track record from the forest sanctuary of Tapu, on New Zealand’s Coromandel Peninsula.
