Silver Scroll winning duo LIPS are the creative force behind the musical score of hit NZ film DAFFODILS starring Kimbra, Rose McIver and George Mason.
For the soundtrack, they've penned two original songs sung by Grammy Award-winner Kimbra who plays Maisie in the film, including the film's lead single 'Silent Treatment'.
The song was written specifically for the film by Steph Brown and Fen Ikner of LIPS as a distillation of the growing alienation felt by the protagonists, with the arpeggio figure from the chorus appears as a major theme throughout the film.
'Silent Treatment' features on the DAFFODILS soundtrack which also includes covers of classic Kiwi songs including ‘Anchor Me’, ‘Not Given Lightly’, ‘Crazy? Yes! Dumb? No!’, ‘Drive’, ‘Fall At Your Feet’ and more.
Steph and Fen of LIPS have worked with the project since it was a stage play that toured NZ twice.
