Mecuzine release debut album 'Cutting Strings'

Auckland based indie rock band Mecuzine play with attitude, honesty and raw, unrelenting energy.

Their debut album Cutting Strings is out today and to celebrate, the band will be performing at The Dogs Bollix, Auckland from 8pm.

Decades of performing, touring and recording nationally and abroad make these five musicians a formidable combination - each with their own story to tell from their time with various bands including Hello Sailor, National Anthem, The Cure, Shade, Child and First Base to name a few.

Solid songwriting, subtle arrangements, and diverse musical influences make Mecuzine a band well worth listening to.

Their first single from the album 'Don't Fire That Gun' received warm praise from the likes of Muzic.net.nz who described the track as "a song with a profound intensity, both lyrically and instrumentally".

Mecuzine is:

Tony Johns (T) – songwriter, lead vocals, lead guitar

John Beech – keyboards and more

Mike Walsh (Mad Dog) – drums

Tony Lumsden (Lummo) -  bass and BVs

Joseph Johns – rhythm guitar and BVs

'Cutting Strings' is now available from all good digital sites with physical CDs available at live shows.
