UK born NZ raised singer/songwriter Harry Parsons has just unveiled the music video for his beautiful new single 'Real'.
Filmed by Christchurch filmmaker, James Murray, the video portrays a young woman appreciating the good, simple things in life and finding joy in the little things, reflecting the song's message of hope in finding moments of clarity.
Shot entirely in Christchurch in one day, the video has a dreamy, washed out, nostalgic feel.
'Real' is a collaboration with producer Carlos Barnett, who helped give the song a new sonic direction, creating a polished, confident, electro pop ballad.
"I wrote the song as I was coming out of quite a low point in my life, full of self doubt and anxiety about the future and where I was headed." says Parsons. "I guess the song reflects hope, and the idea that everything could be okay just let life run it's course."
'Real' begins with the pathos of sparse piano and a dense beat, building in a series of beautiful melodic hooks to the chorus's crescendo, enveloped in a haze of high-pitched vocals.
'Real' is now available from iTunes, Spotify and all good digital outlets.
