US business Primary Wave Music Publishing has acquired the music rights of Canadian classical pianist, Glenn Gould.
The accession includes Gould’s publishing and master royalties, as well as Gould's name and likeness rights.
Glenn Gould was a four-time Grammy Award winner before his death aged 50 in 1982. He was also awarded a posthumous Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2013.
In September 2017, Gould’s 1956 recording of Bach’s Goldberg Variations will be re-released as part of a commemorative set, Glenn Gould: The Goldberg Variations – The Complete Unreleased Recording Sessions.
Primary Wave Music Publishing was founded in 2006 and has a roster of over 15,000 songs from artists such as Smokey Robinson, Kurt Cobain, Steven Tyler, John Lennon, Def Leppard, Hall & Oates, CeeLo Green and many others.
