Four kiwi acts have been named as support for the upcoming Mice On Stilts tour, which kicks off in less than two weeks.
Mice On Stilts are marking the release of their HOPE FOR A MOURNING album with a show in Auckland at the Kings Arms Tavern on Friday, October 7 and another in Wellington at San Fran on Saturday, October 8.
In Auckland, Mice on Stilts will be supported by Toledo Springs; an Auckland four-piece known for their sweet mix of dream pop and psychedelic rock. Also joining the bill is Cowboy Dan whose jangly guitars, upbeat rhythms and poignant lyrics put them at the forefront of Auckland’s alternative rock scene.
In Wellington, Hutt Valley-based psych wizard ENT will open the show with their mesmerising blend of industrial psychedelia fused with punk, ambient noise and folk. Completing the mix is Opium Eater with their unique ‘sludgescape’ vibe.
Led by Benjamin Morley, Mice On Stilts is considered one of New Zealand music’s most compelling live acts. The band has spent years developing their atmospheric and uplifting, yet melancholic, sound by playing at bars and clubs in Auckland’s alternative scene.
This year, they received critical acclaim for their debut full-length album HOPE FOR A MOURNING, which featured the current single ‘Orca’. They also made the Top 20 cut at this year’s APRA Silver Scroll Award with their song ‘The Hours’.
