THE MONKEES UNVEIL NEW COMPILATION FOR 50TH ANNIVERSARY

Rhino is to introduce The Monkees 50, a career-spanning music collection on August 26.

The Monkees 50 is a three-CD set filled with 50 songs from the band’s historic career.  The Monkees scored three #1 hits in their career — ‘Last Train To Clarksville,’ ‘I’m A Believer’ and ‘Daydream Believer’ . This collection delves deeper into the band’s rich catalog to include  fan favourites ‘She,’ ‘Mary, Mary,’ ‘Goin’ Down,’ ‘Tapioca Tundra,’ and ‘Papa Gene’s Blues.’

The Monkees returned to the charts this spring with GOOD TIMES! All three surviving band members — Micky Dolenz, Michael Nesmith, and Peter Tork — wrote new songs for the album, which also features the voice of Davy Jones, a founding member of the group who passed away in 2012.

Dolenz and Tork are now on the road together for a 50th Anniversary Tour, including shows in New Zealand on November 29 at the Isaac Theatre in Christchurch and November 30 at ASB Theatre in Auckland.
