THE MINT CHICKS CRAZY? YES! DUMB? NO! to be REISSUEd in VINYL ON APRIL 15th

Iconic NZ album Crazy? Yes! Dumb? No! is to be re-released on remastered 180 gram double vinyl, Cut at 45rpm with a gatefold sleeve with original art, plus download card.

The Mint Chicks put out a prickly debut album calculated to annoy as many as adored it. They’d turned down huge tours, kidnapped interviewers, pissed off their record company and then done their best to disappear.

Even their blazing comeback show was blighted. They supported the Yeah Yeah Yeahs after a long silent period, debuting many of the songs which would become Crazy?Yes!Dumb? No! Only, they played too loud, demolishing part of the venue – and one unlucky fan.

With the stage set for disaster, they then gave us triumph – one of the best New Zealand guitar album of this millennium to date. It contained romance and fury and surprisingly, songs which found their way onto ZM. It was a kaleidoscopic art-pop masterpiece which made New Zealand sit up and take notice.

The rest of the world didn't cotton on for a few years. The Mint Chicks then exploded onto the scene, letting Unknown Mortal Orchestra and Silicon out of the bag – and establishing the Nielson family name.
