After three and a half years, award-winning Seattle-based Hip Hop duo, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis have confirmed a Friday 26 February release for their new album THIS UNRULY MESS I’VE MADE. The thirteen track LP includes Platinum selling single ‘Downtown’ (featuring Kool Moe Dee, Melle Mel, Grandmaster Caz, andEric Nally), as well as previously unavailable ‘Growing Up’ (featuring Ed Sheeran) and ‘Kevin’(featuring Leon Bridges), plus much more.
THIS UNRULY MESS I’VE MADE is the follow up to the duo’s debut LP THE HEIST, which went #1 in New Zealand and sold platinum on the strength of mega-hits like "Thrift Shop". The album earned them four GRAMMY awards, including Best New Artist and Rap Album of the Year. The tracks on THE HEIST have collectively been streamed nearly a billion times on Spotify (with YouTube views far exceeding that), and the duo has performed on nearly every late-night show, as well as Ellen and Saturday Night Live.
THIS UNRULY MESS I’VE MADE, was largely recorded over the course of a year in the wilderness of the Pacific Northwest. “What I couldn’t find in a hotel room, on the road or in Seattle, I found in the middle of nowhere,” says Macklemore, whose real name is Ben Haggerty. "We went out to the woods; we basically packed up the studio, took it to a small cabin, and had a concise month-and-a-half of making music with no distractions. It was the most prolific month-and-a-half ever."
Macklemore & Ryan Lewis kicked off a month of shows in the US last week with a “triumphant” sold out show in Phoenix, AZ. They launch their European tour in Belgium on March 1 and will include stops at London’s O2 Arena and the AccorHotels Arena in Paris - their biggest European headlining shows to date.
