Since the release of her second album, THE GOLDEN ECHO, New Zealand born proto-pop star Kimbra has been grinding out multiple sold-out North American and Antipodean headline tours in addition to making her debut live appearance at Coachella in April of this year.
More recently, the artist relocated to New York City but not before swinging through Berlin where she and fellow Kiwis, filmmakers Chester Travis and Timothy Armstrong, crafted the official music video for ‘Goldmine’.
Meticulously shot in 100% stop-frame animation requiring 400sq metres of heavy-duty aluminium foil and 700 polystyrene spikes in an old Berlin factory, the result is a breathtakingly abstract, visual feast of gold on greyscale that serves to add to the overall mystical qualities of the song.
